Home facials - Anti-aging secrets

At Home facials has been looking at inexpensive natural remedies.

There is a tremendous amount of hyperbole surrounding anti-aging products, many are highly effective, some less valuable and it is not always easy to cut the wheat from the chaff.

Among the myriad of e-books on the subject of natural home remedies, there is even less of real value, so I was pleased to have come across an e-book, which adds some real value and is designed to reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while not being expensive.

Divided into 10 chapters, the e-book covers

Eating

Traditional remedies and treatments

Cleansers

Exfoliators

Toners

Masks

Serums

and much more, with the aim of providing highly effective home prepared recipes, using the best available natural products.

Definitely worth taking a look at this e-book, for more information, Click here

Home facials - Collagen, what is it?

The term collagen crops up continually in conversations about anti-ageing products, but how does it relate to home facials and what is it?

Collagen, is a protein, which operates as a key component of connective tissues, it plays an important role in the resistance and consistency of the inner layer of the skin. As a result it critical to the strength, elasticity, and texture of the skin.

As we age, collagen production decreases (typically after the age of 25) resulting in the connective tissue of our skin is weakening: the skin collapses and wrinkles are created.

Collagens enriched lotions and creams help hydrate and moisturize the the outer layer of the skin and helps stimulate natural collagen production.

Collagen enriched skin care products help retain the water , maintaining the outer layer of the skins normal hydration, helping the skin to appear revitalized with reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

It is something that can be used as part of an every day home facial routine

A great product is Elemis Pro-collagen Oxygenating night cream available from the beauty store

Home facials - acupressure

To maintain firm facial skin, is not all about cosmetics or cosmetic surgery, much benefit of home facials can be achieved through massage.

Eastern tradition describes the world in terms of energy. It is the elementary substance and vital force of life. All living beings have this energy. It goes way beyond simple muscular energy. It encompasses all the energies a body can pull: physical, mental, physiological and psychological. This flow bears different names on the planet: Qi or Ch'i in Chinese (as in Qi Gong and Tai Chi Chuan), Ki in Japanese (as in Aikido) and Prana in India.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the Qi is always moving, and is constantly fed by external sources (food and fluids intake, air, sun, relationships). It depends as well on our personal inherited potential.

The same way blood is transported by the veins system, vital energy circulates in the body along a net of subtle paths: the meridians. The meridians link the physical sphere to emotions and psyche. They are the key to a balanced and healthy state.

At some specific spots on the path, the Qi gets near the skin and is thus physically accessible. Those key spots are the famous acupuncture points, or acupoints. They are the gateways to the Qi, and to the whole energy system. To work on the acupoints, acupuncture uses needles, and acupressure uses gentle to firm finger pressure.

As a finger pressure technique, acupressure can be used as a facial massage technique. Simple finger pressure relieves congested areas as well as relaxes the muscles. Thus toxins are released and eliminated, which of course benefits our outward appearance.

More importantly, many meridians run across the face, neck and skull. By massaging the points linked to the Qi, acupressure accesses the deeper levels and works on the general well-being, which in turn reflects on the face (everybody has noticed how a person in love looks radiant no matter what!). This vital energy is the most important element of the Acupressure Facelift; it governs our health, how we feel as well as how we look.

The Chinese have used acupressure to enhance physical fitness and beauty for thousands of years. This 5,000 year old system has been found effective for toning muscles, improving the condition and luster of skin, relieving acne, sinus problems, jaw tension, and headaches. Many of the points that are used for these common complaints have Chinese names that reveal their benefits, such as the Facial Beauty point and the Heavenly Appearance point.

Home facials Even skin tone

One of the pressing questions people have about home facials is to maintain an even complexion.

Skin color is not fixed, and you can change your skin color to a remarkable degree without using toxic drugs, chemicals, or steroids. Through diet and lifestyle you can make a massive impact in both skin tone and complexion.

I became aware of a very useful programme by Dr. Thienna, which unlocks many of the mysteries of skin tone and complexion. the result is a highly effective and useful natural skin treatment system.
